New livestock cleaner combines powerful cleaning with eco-concious forumulation

Roam Technology, manufacturer of the market-leading water disinfectant Huwa-San TR-50, has launched Zix Eco Power, a powerful alkaline foam cleaner that is currently awaiting EU Ecolabel approval*.

If awarded, the EU Ecolabel would recognise the product against defined environmental criteria, alongside its cleaning performance.

Designed to effectively remove heavy soiling and organic matter, Zix Eco Power provides strong degreasing action, superior foam stability and adhesion, making it suitable for both vertical and horizontal surfaces. The visible foam also helps users achieve thorough and consistent coverage.

Zix Eco Power strengthens Roam Technology's integrated hygiene approach, supporting the first step in biosecurity by enabling more effective cleaning before disinfection

The formulation contains no EDTA (ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid), phosphates or chlorine, helping to reduce the environmental impact associated with ingredients that may persist in natural ecosystems.

“Livestock producers shouldn't have to choose between cleaning performance and environmental responsibility," says Roam Technology’s Nigel Bennet. "With Zix Eco Power, we've developed a cleaner that tackles heavy organic contamination while supporting more sustainable farm hygiene practices.

“Good cleaning is about more than simply removing visible dirt,” adds Mr Bennet. “Organic material can provide protection for harmful pathogens, so thorough cleaning is fundamental to an effective biosecurity programme. Zix Eco Power provides a highly effective way of tackling heavy soiling while making the cleaning process visible to the user.”

Proven performance on farm

The cleaning performance of Zix Eco Power was demonstrated in a comparison trial on a Norfolk pig farm, where pens are cleaned and disinfected after every batch.

Applied at a 2% dilution and compared with two competing foam cleaners, Zix Eco Power delivered an average ATP cleanliness result that was 38% better than competitor 1 and 48% better than competitor 2. The trial also demonstrated its strong adhesion to vertical surfaces.

“Thorough cleaning is the essential first step in any effective hygiene programme,” adds Mr Bennet. “Removing organic contamination helps maximise the effectiveness of subsequent disinfection and supports a healthier environment for livestock. This is the whole ethos of the products from Roam Technology, designed to clean, disinfect and protect farm livestock.”

Zix Eco Power can be diluted at 1–3%, depending on the level of soiling.

Combining proven cleaning performance, ease of application and an environmentally conscious formulation, Zix Eco Power provides livestock producers with a practical solution for maintaining high standards of farm hygiene while considering the environmental profile of the products they use.

Zix Eco Power is available now exclusively through leading specialist farm supplier Intemax at www.intemax.co.uk

* The EU Ecolabel is one of Europe's most recognised environmental certifications and is awarded only to products that meet stringent criteria related to environmental performance and responsible ingredient selection while maintaining high cleaning efficacy. Through this certification process, Roam Technology aims to offer livestock producers a cleaning solution that combines effective cleaning power with a formulation designed to meet stringent environmental criteria.
